YourNiyyah wasn’t built by a boardroom. It was built by one person, driven by faith, love for the ummah, and a God-given mind that simply cannot ignore injustice.
Our founder was blessed with Asperger’s — a gift from Allah that gives him an extraordinary sense of justice and an unwavering focus on the things that matter most.
That same radical honesty has seen him fired, or walk away, from workplaces where injustices were ignored and others turned a blind eye. The world doesn’t always welcome someone who can’t stay quiet when something is wrong. But in the charity space, being “too honest” is exactly the superpower that was needed. Where others see “the way things are done,” he sees what’s broken and cannot rest until it’s fixed.
That’s one problem our founder is fixing with YourNiyyah. By building direct bank-to-bank payments, we ensure that 100% of every donation reaches the charity — not the card companies. No middlemen taking a cut from sadaqah. No processing fees eating into zakat.
But the injustice doesn’t stop at payment fees. Marketing is incredibly expensive for charities. Trying to reach people who want to donate to a particular cause is neither easy nor cheap. Charities pour thousands into ads, agencies, and platforms just to find the donors who are already out there, already wanting to give.
This is a core principle behind YourNiyyah: to make it as simple, accessible, and affordable as possible for charities to connect with donors. Allah has gifted each of us with certain skills so that we may benefit others. For our founder, it is deeply important that charities can fundraise efficiently, effectively, and without being burdened by the very systems designed to help them.
That is why he has single-handedly built every part of the YourNiyyah platform — from the checkout system to the campaign tools to the charity marketplace — with his own hands, his own time, and his own love for this ummah.
YourNiyyah exists to bring justice to how Muslims give. To remove the unnecessary costs, to simplify the journey from intention to action, and to ensure that when someone makes a niyyah to help, nothing stands in the way of that goodness reaching those who need it most.
These aren’t marketing slogans. They are convictions that shape every line of code and every decision we make.
No one should profit from a person’s intention to do good. We built Open Banking payments so that 100% of every donation reaches the charity. Always.
Charities shouldn’t have to spend a fortune just to ask for help. We provide the marketing tools, the donor reach, and the technology — at a fraction of the cost.
We serve because we love the followers of our Prophet ﷺ. Every feature, every page, every email is built with the intention of making it easier for Muslims to do good.
Allah gifted our founder with certain skills. The least he can do is use them to remove complexity and make the path from niyyah to donation as smooth as possible.
We show donors exactly how much they save charities in fees. We show charities exactly where every donation came from. No hidden costs. No surprises.
YourNiyyah is sustained by voluntary donor tips and fair charity subscriptions — not by taking a cut of your donations. We serve the ummah, not ourselves.
I didn’t build YourNiyyah to make money. I built it because I saw something broken and Allah gave me the ability to fix it. If this platform helps even one person’s sadaqah reach someone in need without a single penny being taken away, then it was worth every late night and every line of code.
May Allah accept it from us and from you. May He make it heavy on our scales and light on the ummah’s burdens.
